Russia will succeed Ambassador in Syria

Russia will soon be replaced by the Ambassador to Syria, writes “Kommersant” with reference to diplomatic sources. According to interlocutors of the newspaper, in place of Alexander Kinshasa come the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in United Arab Emirates Alexander Efimov.

Kinshuk, who is 56, will head the Department of Middle East and North Africa. In this position he will succeed Sergey Vershinin who in March was appointed Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs.

About the change of Ambassador to Syria also said “”. According to the publication, the resignation of Kinshasa was initiated by the head Mead Sergei Lavrov. The decree of the President about appointment of the new Ambassador must be signed for the may holidays 2018.

Kinshuk holds the position of Ambassador to Syria from December 2014. In the diplomatic service he is since 1988. During this time he worked as a Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Iraq, headed the Embassy as chargé d’affaires. Also was the Deputy Director of Department of Middle East and North Africa, and from 2008 to 2013, Ambassador in Kuwait.
