The militants felt threatened and gathered

The militants of the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” group (created on the basis of the “Jabhat al-Nusra” banned in Russia) assembled a military council in connection with the successful offensive of the Syrian government troops in the south of the province of Idlib. About this on Sunday, January 7, reports the Telegram-channel Directorate 4, engaged in the review of terrorist activities.

According to the channel, the terrorists discussed the issue of regrouping forces. As can be seen in the photo that the Directorate 4 publishes, the ringleader of Abu Muhammad al-Juliani, who according to the statements of the Russian Defense Ministry, lost his hand even in early October, participated in the meeting.

As reported by Al Masdar News, on Sunday morning, government troops succeeded in discouraging the militants from the Sinjar settlement, from where the direct road to the Syrian Air Force Abu-ed-Duhur opened, and four more villages in the south-east of Idlib.

Earlier in January, it was reported that the elite forces of the land forces of Syria in the province of Idlib repulsed terrorists from four settlements in four hours.

In the attack on the position of extremists, the Special Forces Division “Tiger Force” and the 4th Mechanized Division took part. In addition, it was accompanied by fire from howitzers, assistance was also provided by jet artillery and combat aircraft.

In October 2017, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that as a result of the air strike inflicted by the Russian military security services, 12 Jabhat al-Nusra field commanders were liquidated and the head of the al-Juliani group was seriously injured and in critical condition. In response, the group was informed that al-Juliani was not injured, he is “in good condition” and continues to “fulfill his duties.” Later, the leader of “Jabhat al-Nusra” appeared in the video, where he gave instructions to militants and showed that he had both hands in his place.
