The NATO Secretary General spoke about the “dual approach” in relations with Russia

NATO plans to combine the containment of Russia with the search dialogue. In an interview with CNN, said the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg, TASS.

“NATO will continue to follow a dual approach to Russia. I mean the combination of a powerful deterrent and protection from political dialogue, because Russia is our neighbour. Therefore, we will continue to strive for a more constructive relationship with Russia, and will continue to work on the control of weapons,” — said Stoltenberg.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General said that the members of the unit increased defense spending over the past three years. By 2024, they have to reach two percent of the GDP of each state.

In February Stoltenberg argued that NATO no longer consider Russia a threat. According to him, Moscow does not threaten any country of the Alliance.
